Car Reviews 2026 Honda Odyssey

When you drive the 2010 Honda Odyssey you will find it hard to believe that it is a minivan. It feels and handles more like a sedan than a van. It is a very nice ride with plenty of room and plenty of power plus excellent handling and maneuverability. I wish it was available in all wheel drive but maybe one of these days it will be. For 2010 there are four models or trim levels for the Honda Odyssey. They go from fairly basic on the LX to pretty fancy with all the goodies on the Touring model. There is the LX, the EX, the EX-l and the Touring. All the models have the same engine and drivetrain. The Odysseys all use the 3.5 liter SOHC 24 valve VTEC V-6 that produces 224 horsepower at 5750 RPM. The engine redlines at 6300 RPM so it produces its rated horsepower and still has some more RPMs left. The engine qualifies as a ULEV2 engine for all you greenies. All the 2010 Odysseys use the five speed automatic transmission. The Odyssey is EPA rated 17/25 with a combined rating of 20 MPG. Not great but not bad for a van. The main difference in the various models is the standard and available optional equipment. The Odyssey is a very popular van for conversion to handicapped vans. They make them sit a lift and where they can be driven by somebody in a wheel chair. They are hand controlled. I have a granddaughter with Spina Bifida and she will require one eventually. All set up they run around $65,000 but they have everything you could ever need. They are really nice. The LX is the cloth seats, single CD, manual fold seats, manual adjustments and more basic equipment. With each step up has more equipment and of course is more money. The Touring model has all the bells and whistles and power everything. It is one heck of a nice vehicle. It is very comfortable for a family to travel in and you get the reliability of a Honda. The LX has seating for seven but the others can seat up to eight depending on the arrangement of the seats. If you are going to be transporting grandchildren for young children you will want all the latest and best safety equipment. All the new Honda Odysseys come well equipped. All seating positions have 3 point seat belts, child proof rear door locks, dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags, front side airbags with Occupant Position Detection System which doesn’t let the airbag open if there is no one in the seat. This saves a lot of money as airbags are expensive. The Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, Anti-Lock Braking, electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Vehicle stability Assist with Traction Control and Brake assist all add to making the Odyssey a safer vehicle. Tri-zone Automatic Climate Control is standard on all but the base LX. The Odyssey has programmable power door locks and tailgate locks. Honda satellite-Linked Navigation with Voice recognition and rear view camera and Honda DVD rear entertainment System are standard on the Touring and available on the EX-L. A 360 watt 7 speakers stereo is available and Bluetooth Hands-Free operation for your cell phone. The new Odyssey offers you a choice of 9 different color for the exterior and 3 fabric colors and four leather colors for the interior. My choice would be the Dark Cherry Pearl with the Ivory Leather Interior. The base LX odyssey will cost $26,805 while a loaded out Touring model will cost you $42,374. If you want the handicapped conversion you are looking at around $65,000.
